Cuando se abren las puertas del elevador, luego de un recorrido descendente a lo largo de 198 metros hasta el museo Underground Salt Museum de Kansas, usted se encuentra parado literalmente en medio de lo que alguna vez fue un mar del antiguo período Pérmico. Todos están invitados a tocar el bloque de cristales de sal, que pesa 272 kilogramos y a experimentar la nueva “sala de juegos del período Pérmico”. La depresión, con tres compartimentos y una extensión de poco más de dos metros, cuenta con sal refinada en polvo, rutas de sal y lodo del período Pérmico, con vetas de silvina roja para escarbar y sentir.

Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library & Museum

Visit his boyhood home and final resting place in Abilene, and tour the museum chock-full of artifacts and exhibits that examine Eisenhower’s life and cultural legacy.
